ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE 2020 DIAMOND GUILD AUSTRALIA JEWELLERY AWARDS

THURSDAY 30 APRIL 2020: The members of Diamond Guild Australia wish to advise that we have reluctantly decided to cancel the upcoming Diamond Guild Australia Jewellery Awards planned for 2020.

The extensive and ongoing impact of the Covid-19 outbreak in Australia has had far reaching consequences for all members of the retail jewellery industry and as such the Guild believes that cancelling the planned 8th Awards is the most appropriate response to the current situation.

Diamond Guild Australia remains committed to this highly anticipated national competition which has been the most important showcase of Australian diamond jewellery design talent since 2005.

We will now be working towards holding the next Awards event in the first half of 2021. Whilst the timeline for this rescheduled competition has not yet been confirmed, we are at this stage planning to invite entries for submission in March with the Gala event and announcement of winners to be held in May 2021.

More information regarding the rescheduled competition will be made available from September this year.

It is our hope that, once the worst of this crisis is behind us, the next Diamond Guild Awards will inspire the talented artisans of the Australian industry to look forward to a bright and creative future.

We recognise this crisis has had an unfathomable impact on members of the Australian retail jewellery industry and wish to extend our ongoing support and encouragement to our fellow jewellers and designers.
