Artisans Bespoke Jewellers was founded in 2005 by Tammy Keers. The business began
with humble beginnings in Tammy’s garage where she started doing trade work for
several local jewellers.
After three years of dedication and the creation of a small selection of handmade
pieces, the first retail store opened called Artisans Gems and Jewels in a modest threemetre
square space on Given Terrace, Paddington, Queensland. This initial studio was
simple yet distinctive that included a jeweller’s bench, a small design area and front
window display. For three years, it served as a solo workspace, during which time the
business flourished on Given Terrace.
The public embraced the unique, modern Art Deco design style, enabling the move to a
larger retail space on upper Latrobe Terrace, Paddington in 2006. In this new location,
jewellers’ benches remained on display so the public could watch the creative process.
The team expanded to four, and as the business continued to thrive, it eventually grew
to seven staff members. With this growth came the need for a more permanent home.
Today, Artisans Bespoke Jewellers operates from its current premise at 98 Latrobe
Terrace, featuring an inviting boutique space and a custom-built workshop with seven
jewellers’ benches. True to its origins, the signature jeweller’s bench remains proudly
showcased in the front window, allowing customers to witness handmade jewellery
craftsmanship firsthand.
